Under a special scheme for students of ASEAN member countries, the Government of Brunei Darussalam offers eighteen (18) scholarship annually, nine (9) places specifically for MSc. in Petroleum Geoscience
Tenable at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the aim of the scholarship is to provide students, who are citizens of ASEAN member countries, an opportunity to undertake first degree programmes or the Master's degree programme at the University. The academic year of the University is from August to June. Only two scholarships will be awarded each year to two students from each ASEAN member country (one for MSc. in Petroleum Geoscience programme).
TENURE OF SCHOLARSHIP
> The Scholarship is tenable normally for the duration of the programme which the scholarship is awarded.
> The Scholarship is subject to the Scholar maintaining satisfactory conduct and progress in his/her studies (this requires the Scholar to maintain an active registration status by passing the prescribed semester examinations and obtaining the minimum course credit units).
REQUIREMENT
To qualify for the scholarship award and admission to Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
Applicants for admission to first degree programmes must satisfy the following minimum entry requirements:-
> Credit in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects, and at least three (3) Advanced Level passes with minimum grade 'C' relevant to the degree programme applied for;
AND
> For English-Medium programmes at least a credit six (6) in English Language at GCE Ordinary Level examination or the equivalent (e.g. a score of 550 and above in the TOEFL examination or an average score of 6.5, and above in the British Council I.E.L.T.S.);
> For Malay-Medium programmes at least a credit six (6) in Malay Language at GCE Ordinary Level examination or an equivalent qualification in Malay Language.
> For Bilingual programmes at least a credit six (6) in Malay Language and at least a pass in English Language at GCE Ordinary Level examination or the equivalent
> Applicants for the Arabic-Medium programmes must have qualification in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (STPUB) or its equivalent with an average grade of "Jayyid" or three Advanced Level passes in Arabic medium subjects with grade 'C' or better.
> Applicants for the Master's programme must hold a Bachelor's Degree (normally at least Second Class Honours) in the relevant discipline, where applicable, from a recognised institution or any equivalent qualification accepted by the University Senate.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN member countries, be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner and those applying for first degree programmes must normally be not over 25 years of age at the commencement of the academic session for which they are applying for admission. Brunei citizens are eligible to apply.
Closing date
Complete application forms, together with certified copies of relevant certificates and documents, must reach The Registrar and Secretary, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Tungku Link, Gadong BE 1410, Brunei Darussalam (Attn: Admissions & Student Records Section) before middle of March each year, except for MSc. in Petroleum Geoscience. The closing date for this programmes is before end of March each year.

Programme medium of instruction is English/Malay Language.
23 BA (Major in Brunei Studies and one minor chosen from any other courses offered by the University). Programme medium of instruction is English and Malay Language.

26 Bachelor of Arabic Language - Programme medium of instruction is Arabic Language.
27 Bachelor of Usuluddin - Programme medium of instruction is Arabic Language.
28 Bachelor of Syariah - Programme medium of instruction is Arabic Language.
